Ganjapreneurs Open SPARC: The Apple Store of Marijuana Shops

Posted by Ty on October 3rd, 2010

Fast Company Magazine covers SPARC, one of the most aesthetically pleasing cannabis dispensaries on earth. The media is ringing a very loud bell, and legalization will be the result. We support a vote of YES on Prop 19. As a newcomer to California, I cannot forget the fear that exists in states with no medical marijuana, such as Florida and North Dakota, and even New York. Can you believe it? New York of all places has no provision for providing medical marijuana to patients. California cannabis is still being enjoyed in New York, but at a very high price. Medicine shouldn’t be so expensive. Legalize it for all the brothers and sisters in all the states that will follow with legalization of their own. Federal legalization…sniff, sniff, can you smell it?!

Getting high is not the goal of many medical marijuana patients. During the International Cannabis and Hemp Expo in San Francisco, California this weekend, I heard several patients asking about standardized testing statewide at a cost effective rate which would encourage a higher standard of growing marijuana just by the nature of the marketplace. High CBD strains are sought for their pain relieving properties while minimizing the opportunity to get high from the THC which has been strategically minimized.

San Jose Police Chief Says Legalize Marijuana in California

Posted by Ty on October 1st, 2010

Joseph McNamara, Chief of Police (ret.) in San Jose, CA speaks in favor of a vote of Yes on Prop 19, to regulate, tax, and control cannabis in 2010 in California. Joseph McNamara speaks on behalf of L.E.A.P., Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, and answers questions about the fear of people drive under the influence of marijuana. Chief McNamara knows police time will be freed up to deal with stoned drivers if prohibition ends. The fear that kids will get marijuana easier is simply false, as children say now that they get marijuana easier than alcohol because adults have little incentive to provide alcohol to them, whereas with cannabis kids are actually the ones controlling the street trade in many inner city areas because police can’t go after the kids as readily as the adults. Make marijuana illegal, and as paradoxical as it sounds, and you will make marijuana more difficult for kids to acquire.

The legalization of marijuana is a hot topic now around the world, as all eyes are on California where they are known to have the best brownie recipe and all the best medical marijuana to give it life. Growing marijuana outdoors is a high fine art in the hills of Mendocino County and Trinity County and, of course, Humbolt County California. Marijuana seeds put Marc Emery in a United States prison. Jay-Z, Jimmy Buffet, and Nas have all been known to enjoy marijuana with no regard for how long does marijuana stay in your system. How to grow marijuana is a curiosity which sends many to the internet to find community at sites like Marijuana.com and STICKYGuide.com

Months After Death, Legendary Pot Activist Stokes Prop 19 Debate

Posted by Ty on August 27th, 2010

Heed these wise words below from the Giants in the cannabis movement, Dan Herer, son of Jack Herer, Steve DeAngelo and Ed Rosenthal. (If any of those names are new to you, hop on Google or search here at Green Hit Shirts.) I agree with all three gentlemen, wish them well, and standby their sides in support of Prop 19 to Regulate, Tax, Control Cannabis in California in 2010. Please register to vote immediately. Once you are registered, I recommend voting by mail. Yes! on Prop 19

The following is an excerpt from a letter written about Prop 19 and Jack Herer’s support of the initiative, written by Dan Herer, Jack’s eldest son:

Jack railed against Tax Cannabis 2010, now Proposition 19, and its plan for limited legalization and local authority to tax and regulate marijuana sales to adults 21 and above. It falls far short of what he wanted. Jack ‘wanted it all,’ and Prop 19 is just a part of that dream.

Unfortunately, Jack passed away before Prop 19 made the 2010 ballot; so many people think he would still oppose it. We don’t believe that, and we ask that everyone stop saying he would cling to that position as we move toward the Nov. 2 vote.

As his family, we want the world to know that the last thing Jack Herer would want is for Californians to vote to keep Cannabis illegal. He was smart and had the political savvy to know that once a measure is on the ballot, the time for bickering has passed.

That is why he campaigned for Prop 215 despite its shortcomings. That is why, were he able, he would now be telling voters to rally around and Vote Yes on Prop 19.

Words by Ed Rosenthal:
The reality is that this Initiative, Prop. 19, is here, now. There isn’t another one on the horizon and it is important that this one get passed. It will set off a tidal wave across the country and around the world. It will light the first beacon in all the world signaling freedom from harassment.

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT PROP 19 PASS. Can you imagine going into a voting booth and voting no on legalization? You must be crazy or just insane. Think and think again until you get it right, and don’t believe everything you think. Listen to other people- to the collective wisdom of millions yearning to be free from the police state that the marijuana laws create.

If you can vote here, would you be proud to tell your children or grandchildren, “I had a chance to vote for legalization in ’10, but I didn’t think the initiative met my standards.”?

Get real. When this initiative passes it will change the paradigm worldwide. It will be as important as the felling of the Berlin Wall. This initiative will breach the dike of prohibition. “And the walls will come tumblin’ down.”

– Ed Rosenthal

Finally, words by Steve DeAngelo:
I would like to add my voice to Ed Rosenthal’s. As one who initially questioned the wisdom of putting Prop 19 on the ballot, I would like to send a clear message to anybody who is still on the fence: You must vote in favor of Prop 19. Not only that, you should give as deeply as you can to the campaign. There are hundreds of thousands of people, all around the world, rotting in prison cells because of cannabis prohibition. Until the last of those prisoners walks out of their cells, it is incumbent upon all lovers of cannabis, and lovers of freedom, to take full advantage of every possible chance to change the law. Yes, Prop 19 is not perfect. And yes, it may have been wiser to wait until 2012. But it is ON THE BALLOT NOW, and that changes everything.

It’s as simple as this: we owe it to our imprisoned brethren to do all we can to pass Prop 19.

Feel free to spread this message,

Steve DeAngelo

We’re going to stretch the definition of stash to include a nook where you can store some of your marijuana apparel, your marijuana card, any marijuana designs for marijuana art which you may be working on should also be grouped together to be your “stash”. Of course, if you buy marijuana and store it in this same area then we will include your bag of marijuana in the collective “stash”. The marijuana itself becomes the stash in this case, further deepening the definition to those who may be reading the marijuana term for the first time. Those of you who frequent cannabis dispensaries, or just one cannabis dispensary, will have attained enough knowledge to recognize much of the marijuana slang readily. One might not choose to hide one’s cannabis t shirts, even if they are blatant legalize marijuana t shirts, but if you do, and you keep it with your fat sack of marijuana, we’re calling it all your stash. Phish stash if you keep good music there. Cheers, friends!

Legalization: Yes We Can!

Regular people, normal people, executive people, people in suits and ties use cannabis. Your neighbors ask for your support in this election year marijuana video. Please support of the regulation, taxation and control of cannabis in California in 2010. Yes on Prop 19. President Obama will hear from the voters of California in November 2010, and it will become politically impossible for him not to support pro-cannabis legislation on the federal level.

Growing marijuana indoors may or may not begin with marijuana seeds, because marijuana clones are a useful way for anybody to hit the ground running with a healthy, viable plant. Marijuana plants are lucky to ever see the day under Texas marijuana laws, but weeds being weeds, they somehow find a way to crop up. Sometimes criminals put chemicals in marijuana in order to try to increase their profits, but the consumer pays a heavy burden for the lack of knowledge about the medicinal marijuana he is buying because of the dimming power of prohibition on the honesty and integrity of the market. Black market marijuana dealers may or may not know the source of of the marijuana joint they sell to you. Buying marijuana on a regulated, taxed above the ground marketplace would do wonders for the safety of the marijuana users. Industrial hemp cannot be ignored as a strong source of domestic fiber and oil. After the legalization of marijuana our country’s family farmers will benefit from our domestic hemp industry.

Oregon Board Of Pharmacy Adopts Rules To Reclassify Marijuana As A Medicine

Posted by Ty on August 1st, 2010

The Oregon Board of Pharmacy took a giant leap ahead by adopting rules to reclassify marijuana as a medicine. The Pharmacy Board’s stance would allow cannabis to be re-scheduled from a Schedule I drug with no medicinal value, to a Schedule II drug with recognized medical value.

Why Prohibition? Cannabis in Canada

Posted by Ty on July 14th, 2010

Seeing our own system from the outside is a great way to learn that other models will work better than punitive prohibition, as evidenced by Portugal and Holland where local leaders have succeeded in making marijuana boring for most of their population. As you watch this video, please keep in mind that cannabis has never killed anyone. Ever.
